Question:How does where you live affect how you live?
The Task:Your family is considering taking a trip abroad. Due to the expense, you have been asked to do some research to help your parent(s) decide if this is a vacation that everyone will enjoy. You need to consider that:
You and your mom love nature and doing outdoor activities
Your dad is into learning about historic places
Your older, college-aged brother is an art history major and needs to do his own research while away,
You all like to attend festivals, events, and other entertainment
The Product:Since your family is so busy, you have decided the best way to communicate the information you gather about how this vacation can satisfy everyone’s interests is to create a web-based product. You have narrowed your options down to:
an online poster using Glogster, or
a digital travel guide using VoiceThread
The Research:You will be using print and non-print sources in your research. You may use any non-fiction or reference books from the library media center as well as pre-selected websites and our SIS subscription databases. Family members may want to do some further research on their own, so you will need to create bibliography of all the sources of information you have used.
Since this is a modern day country study, be sensitive to the copyright date of the book. Any book with a copyright date prior to the year 2000, may not be suitable for some portions of your research.
